Change is never easy!

It still doesn't feel real being in Santiago de Chile. I am not sure what it feels like to be honest. The one thing that I do know - everything is different. From driving on the wrong side of the road, to the language, to the rhythm of people, to the food - to everything.

I think the most difficult is of course, the language. I think I would probably be coping a lot better if I could speak the lingo. I must actually make an effort to learn it quicker but maybe Uli's right - I seem to be avoiding it for some reason.

I nearly succumbed to tears quite a few times this morning! Why? I heard a South African accent! The chairperson from the South African Ladies Association called me - I must say I was quite taken aback when someone spoke in my native tongue. Anyway, we might be braaing with her family on Saturday. She has 2 children - a girl of 16 and a little boy of 10 - ideal for Nicholas and maybe a bit too old for Michael!

I am exhausted but have to wait for Brownies for Michael's cake sale - an initiative for charity.
